Phone access
Scan the QR code
Section titled “Scan the QR code”- Connect the phone to the same local network as the computer running iTally.
- Open the console’s Phone access page. Computer address is set automatically to the network card on the switcher’s subnet. If it is wrong, choose another or select Enter manually.
- Choose All cameras or one camera, then scan the QR code with the phone camera.
The QR code contains only an address, never a password. Click Print all to print a code for every camera and attach it to that camera.
http://<computer address>:<port>/t: lists all cameras to choose from.http://<computer address>:<port>/t/<camera ID>: shows that camera full screen.
Colours
Section titled “Colours”| Colour | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Red | Program: on air |
| Green | Preview: up next |
| Black | Off: confirmed in neither Program nor Preview |
| Yellow | Unknown: the reason is shown on screen |
On yellow, the screen shows the reason: Lost connection to iTally, Switcher not connected, Camera deleted or Input not found. The screen turns yellow as soon as the connection drops, never keeps the old colour, and reconnects automatically. The camera name appears in large type in the middle.
- On iPhone, open the page in Safari and choose Add to Home Screen. Opened from the Home Screen, only the time and battery appear over the colour.
- A web page cannot keep the screen on, so turn off Auto-Lock in the phone’s settings. The iOS / Android app keeps the screen on by itself.
- When you return from another app, the page reconnects at once.
iOS / Android app
Section titled “iOS / Android app”The app scans the same QR code to join. Choose a camera, and tally fills the screen while the display stays on. The app reopens on your last camera. A beta is coming soon (TestFlight on iOS, an APK on Android).
